In the Bible it is clear that UNITY is powerful, UNITY is influencial. In Genesis 11:1-9 it tells us about the Tower of Babel and describes the unity of the people and their want to glorify themselves. God had to intervene and introduced different languages to bring confusion and division in order for their plan to be stopped. This was because God knew the power of UNITY.
If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. Genesis 11:6 NIV
In John:17 Jesus is in the Garden of Gethsemane and prays for His disciples to be as one (unified) as He is as one with the Father. Jesus then prays for all Believers and unity (in Love) seems to be the overall factor of the prayer.
This is how everyone will recognise that you are my disciples - when they see the love you have for each other.
